The Deutschland-Semesterticket can be purchased 20 days before the start of the period of validity. The period of validity corresponds to the respective semester (summer semester: April to September; winter semester: October to March). The ticket is available either in digital form for smartphones or as a classic ticket in chip card format.

A authorization check must be carried out again in the app. To do this, select ‘VRN Ticketshop’ -> ‘Deutschland-Semesterticket’ in the app menu and carry out the check (section 2 of the instructions). If you are authorised, the semester ticket will be extended.

To update the chip card, you must apply again at the StudierendenServiceCenter and present it at the Kaiserslautern Mobility Centre or the rnv Mobility Centres in Ludwigshafen, Mannheim or Heidelberg.

From 12 March or 11 September, it will no longer be possible to purchase the Deutschland-Semesterticket for the current semester! The authorization check provided by the Rechenzentrum (RZ) from this point onwards is valid for the coming semester.
